Hi... just wondering what you guys that let your kids surf are using

to ensure they do not access sites they should not. I thought this

was a simple fix but am finding it impossible... I can either

restrict all but a few sites, or do none at all. Am I missing

something?

Hey Lyn

All we do here is keep the computer in a room that we are in all the

time. That way we see what Coral is looking at pretty much all the time

because we are in the same room with her and the computer. The computer

screen actually faces where we sit so we kinda keep an eye on it while

she is using it. This is what works for us anyway. Good luck!

Thanks Tracey... our computer is in the kitchen/great room area too

and someone is always monitoring what Siarra does, so I did not mean

to imply she was running wild looking at innapropriate things, but

today she accidentally misspelled cartoonnetwork.com and in seconds

reached a porn site... she was not the least bit interested and went

to another site but I would love to avoid that happening at all.

Oh, I wasn't offended by your comment in the least, just wanted to

make sure I was clear since someone on another of my groups said

filters were for " absentee parents " ... OUCH! Anyway... I appreciate

the link... I will look into that. We are using one temporarily

right now but I cannot get to ANY sites without typing a password and

it is getting quite irritating!

Hi Lyn

I didn't think that your daughter was not being supervised on the

computer and hope that I did not imply that. I know my husband

installed a " filter " on our computer for our daughter. We had unrelated

computer problems and lost it when we crashed our system. He plans to

instal a new one. He says a great place to find free filters to

download on the computer is at " Tucows " . The site is

http://kwic.tucows.com/index.html

Hope this helps.
