Guest guest
So we have had a very very busy 3 months! I feel bad we have dropped off the group so much! As most of you know it all started with a new baby! He had a a sacral dimple. My heart sank when I saw it, I just new there was a problem. It was tested and Baby Max is perfect! A couple weeks later Cole had a follow up MRI to check his Chiari I Malformation. The MRI went pretty smooth and we found out that his Chiari has resolved and there is no indication of any Chiari any more! I am so happy for Cole. 1 thing he can check off his list of shit to deal with! Then a few weeks later he had 2 bouts of excruciating pain the 1st time he would pee in the morning with no sign of a UTI. WIth our history of scoliosis I was petrified that it would be something serious. We just saw a pediatric urologist yesterday and they think that he is just having very concentrated pee in the morning and that we should cut back on milk with non after 5pm and really push plain water and that hopefully things should be back on track. I feel pretty good about this, though I hate when there is no test that can definitively tell me that this is what it is but everything looks good. Our pediatrician also thought that he needed to be circumcised because his foreskin hasn't retracted but the urologist said that that is not true at all. Thank goodness! I didn't want to deal with that either. We have also found a deer tick on Cole which had been there over the 48 hours necessary to contract lyme disease so he is on antibiotics for 3 weeks which has upset his poor stomach! This is the 2nd time since we have started casting 18 months ago that we have had to deal with lyme disease. GRRRR. Thankfully he LOVES medication so it is not too bad. Finally we have our first brace check on Tuesday! I am scared to death! Although optimistic I am petrified that he will have regressed and that the brace may not be holding him. I don't see any signs that that this is the case but I know that sometimes you can not visually see it, due to their body shape being so much better. Sorry that was such a large rant. I have been a bit stressed out. Hopefully we will have great news and some serious stress relief soon. Jenn Mommy to Max and Cole 2.5 years old, 1st brace from Rochester 2 degrees down from 47 after 10 months in 5 casts
