Guest guest
The first we knew was the day they made the decision. No one was told. In fact i have just put it on facebook as they are not making it public knowledge. Just the parents whose children are in the units currently. Not sure all staff even know that it has happened as i have just had a message from a speech unit to invite me to go and look around. Have put a message on facebook and hopefully people will complain. Someone has already phoned a school and they are lucky as they are an academy (this new american way of schooling) and are keeping their promise to build a unit. It is a secondary school though. The head there knew about the closures though so obviously been going on for abit of time this decision!!! Guest guest
Does that mean there are no special schools in Kent, or at any rate no children with autism in them? very interesting. Guest guest
Cambridgehire shut all its primary autism units one by one but the one outside Cambridge was saved when parents tore many holes in the LA's paperwork justifying the closure. However, then referrals to it dried up which I guess was the LA stopping referrals from happening.
