Sorry I haven't posted lately...just overwhelmed I guess.

Have any of your girls had issues with uncontrollable silliness?? This is becoming

almost a daily issue with Jacqui. Usually in the afternoons. She is in first

grade.

It's funny how much information I read about behaviors at specific ages.

I've read at least 5 posts on another list in the last 10 minutes or so from

parents of " Boys " aged 6 (Jacqui is 6), that are having agression

problems.

My thought is that the cause may be the same, but because she is a girl that

the behavior is different...

In any case, I need suggestions.

Thanks,

Penny:

Hello. I thought my daughter, , was the Queen of Silliness! She would break out in giggles in restaurants, grocers, doctor's offices and, once , even at family funeral. She is 8 and although they have waned over the years, they still break out at the most inopportune times. I have, in the past, worked in the medical field and would quiz specialists and fellow employees (who dealt with pedi PDD-NOS) about this....they all say that this is a strong characteristic of autism much like the self talk. I usually get to sit down, relax and do breathing exercises until it somewhat subsides. Unfortunately, it can be contagious. Sometimes I end up giggling along with her because she won't quit! Enjoy while you can.... has now entered the phase of being rude to complete strangers. Another phase, I have been told.

Good Luck!

Dear Jacqui,

My daughter, , has been going

through the sillies right now. She’s 12 and ½. Ever since she started the

Houston enzymes, it seems she is rediscovering her

voice and enjoys startling everyone with her loud yelling and laughs

hysterically over it. She also,for

the first time, initiated a rough and tumble game with me and wouldn’t

stop until I joined in. It was fun!
