We keep a bib on Londynn - all the time (except while she is sleeping) and she

always has a shirt on over her cast, but yes by the time it comes off - with the

drool and spills it is dirty around the neck area - that seems to be the place

that it gets the dirtiest for us - when it looks super bad we replace the

moleskin.

area. The tape is peeling up already, and I have some extra that was given to

us at the hospital, but are there any tips on how to keep it clean, and how

often do you re-tape? It is going to look awful when it is time for it to come

off! LOL

I suppose we started casting before all this great ideas were out there. Duck tape, medical tape, Modge podge, etc.

was in a series of 6 casts over 14 months. After that first cast I didn't care what that dang cast looked like. I let him be a kid and if that meant the cast got dirty....oh well. I used that lovely fuzzy moleskin the hospital gave us and rarely re-taped anything. I did always have shirt on him and sometimes a bib too when he was younger. I wanted a clean cast, but knew it was crazy to have one so I gave up and covered it with a shirt.

I just wouldn't stress over it being dirty. Don't sweat the small stuff. She has only had it since Tuesday, but it looks dirty around her chin/neck area. The tape is peeling up already, and I have some extra that was given to us at the hospital, but are there any tips on how to keep it clean, and how often do you re-tape? After 6.5 yrs of casting, we found that it was Modge Podge that worked

best for us, as well. Saved my finger prints, and accidents were easier

to maintain. Not to mention, you can really get creative and the childs

cast ends up being a true masterpiece of art when complete. Liv always

took great pride in hers.
