Guest guest
I would send that Dr a fruit basket or a bottle of champagne! If only parents whose kids don't have scoliosis could spend one day in your shoes - then they might be a little less annoyed. My son had his physical 2 weeks ago, the doctor had him bend over for the scoli test. I was so happy to see him do it!! Then I asked "Do you know what Dr. C was looking for?" He said "No" I said "He was checking for scoliosis." "You mean like ? wow" Gail From: tonya <jamienoramom@...>Subject: scoliosis awarenessinfantile scoliosis treatment Date: Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 2:38 PM One of my friends just posted on Facebook that her pediatrician had sent her son for xrays suspecting scoliosis. He just turned a year old. She was annoyed that the dr had sent them and that his results had come back negative! I told her she should be happy that the dr knew enough of I.S. to send her in the first place, unlike most drs that take the "wait and see" approach!!! I'm thrilled that another dr within my hometown even knew what I.S. is, aside from Nora's pediatrician!!! In my opinion this dr needs a serious pat on the back, kuddos to her!!!Tonya Perkinsmom to Nora,49th cast Oct.13thbracing for summerShriners,Greenville,SC
Guest guest
I agree! If I lived in the area, I would probably switch to that ped! I hope your friend comes to appreciate what this doc is doing.... His job! If all peds were as pro-active as this one, think of how many children would get diagnosed and treated so much earlier than they actually do. Imagine if her child had IS and how grateful she would have been if the diagnosis were positive instead! That ped gets my pat on the back! - Noelle's mommy, 3 1/2 years oldRochester NYCasted 8 times for 1 1/2 years9 months in braceRegressed and currently in cast 9reflux, mild plagiocephaly, mild torticollos, hypotonia, ligament laxity, suspected Ehler's Danlos III From: tonya <jamienoramom@...>Subject: scoliosis awarenessinfantile scoliosis treatment Date: Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 6:38 PM One of my friends just posted on Facebook that her pediatrician had sent her son for xrays suspecting scoliosis. Guest guest
I agree with you Gail. I love when my 10 year old daugther goes for a checkup and the Ped gives her a Scoli exam. She knows her little brother has gone through a lot and she is glad that the Dr is checking her spine.
