WOW !!! that is amazing! She is one flexible lil booger! Logan was casted at 0 in his 2nd cast....and still the Dr could not tell me how many more. We are in our 4th one right now. Is she rotated? Logan has a rotation as well...and I think that is what we are working on now...because his spine is amazing. Logan does the same thing with the puking! Too upset = puke. We have dodged the puke on the cast several times...but I know there is going to be the one time Im not fast enough! lol! Im sooo happy for you and your family. It wasnt until we took off the #3 cast that we could actually tell Logan's spine was straighter....so dont die of depair when you take off cast #1 and its not like you want it to be in your head! Its a process and not a surgery is what I tell myself....takes a

lil while. Keep your spirits postive and she will AMAZE you on what she can do in the cast. Logan never stops surprising us!

Hi all,As you know, Kaity got her 1st cast yesterday morning at Chicago.I didn't know it was possible to feel so many highs and lows of emotions, as I did yesterday! Wow.She went in happy as a clown and we waiting for what seemed like forever, and Dr S finally came out to speak with us. When i saw him, I think I held my breath! I really went in there thinking the worst (her Curve would be a ton bigger & maybe she wouldn't get good correction) But he said it went very well, and he was pleased. He said that her curve was now at 50degs. (which I thought was amazing, seeing as it has been 3 months since her last xray, and then it was 40degs so only 10 degs in 3 months!)Then, he said that he got her under 10* and nearly straight!!! I just started balling lol I couldn't believe it!I'm still shocked! So this is good for a

first cast right? Can you tell how many she will have, with such good news from the first? She was very upset when I went back to see her in recovery, verrry cranky.I was shocked to feel how much heavier she was. I pictured the cast being lighter and not so bulky.I guess I will get some muscles out of the deal. The ride home was ok, she went from sleeping to crying. She cried so hard at one point that she puked.Luckily nothing got through to the cast! She slept all night in her own bed, propted up with pillows. Another shocker, I thought she'd be up all night.Well I need to get back to my Missy.I'm sure I will have cast questions soon Wanted to share, - mommy to Kaitlyn (14months)50* out of cast and under 10* and nearly straight in 1st cast!

Hi ,Yes I think she does have rotation, bc she had arib hump. No one ever said how bad it was.Dr S said it was hard to tell in cast.Did Logan have a rib hump?Today has been emotional, an she's a crabby cake. She's sleeping in my bed with pillows around her, right now.She seems more comfy there. This definetly is an adjustment for our whole family. But earlier today she started to crawl on her own again,Not as fast, but crawling none the less. She just has a hard time sitting.Mommy to Kaitlyn (14months)50* down to under 10* in 1st cast Sent from my iPodOn Sep 3, 2010, at 10:15 AM, Medlin <amanda.medlin@...> wrote:

Hey ---

Yes Logan does have a rib hump---which was thought to be underdeveloped muscle and had to go to PT for....not the case. It usually takes a whole day for Logan to get back in the swing of things. We bought Logan a bean bag for him (19.00 at Target) to sit in....because the reclining seemed to be more comfortable...plus he can just roll right off to get up. We did not see a big difference in the rib hump until we took off cast #3---which the parents in this group had told me before....that rotation is the longest thing to resolve.

Hi ,

rib hump. No one ever said how bad it was.

Dr S said it was hard to tell in cast.

Did Logan have a rib hump?

Today has been emotional, an she's a crabby cake.

She's sleeping in my bed with pillows around her, right now.

She seems more comfy there.

This definetly is an adjustment for our whole family.

But earlier today she started to crawl on her own again,

Not as fast, but crawling none the less.

She just has a hard time sitting.
