Guest guest Posted January 2, 2003 Report Share Posted January 2, 2003 Just remember that it takes several months to really get the full impact of how well the IVIG is helping. IVIG cut down significantly on the antibiotics had to take - until he got the chronic sinusitus. He's been on protective antibiotics (switch Septra/Amox every month.) for a little over a year now. Kind of a bummer to be on the meds every day, on the other hand he's only missed a couple of days of school from being sick. Amazing. IVIG is why can go to school. Prior to that, he was sick constantly with ear/sinus/chest infections - one after another. He might as well been on daily antibiotics as he had to take them more than 50% of the time. But he was still constantly sick. Now, with IVIG, he still has to take the antibiotics, but he is rarely out and out sick. Just has the chronic cough in the winter. Is active and energetic most of the time. IVIG has made ALL the difference in the world. I hope and pray that it will also benefit your boys.
