Guest guest
Okay, as I have said several times, I have an 8 yo boy who is very high-functioning. He is mainstreamed, in gifted classes, advanced math, etc... Yet, we deal with the autism on a daily basis. So, I have seen an OT and wasn't given much hope that they would be able to work with him. I have a counselor that I will hopefully be able to take my son to soon... But, what about ABA? Is it something that can be worked with a child this age. The postings seem to indicate that 2-5 are the peak years for this therapy. I would appreciate any feedback and thoughts that you all may have. We deal with meltdowns, thumbsucking, anxiety, and so on. But, he does relatively well at school and in public (on short jaunts). Just wanted to find out what I could before pursuing yet another avenue that seems to have a roadblock for HFA. Thanks so much L. for Good Click here to donate to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort.
