Dear Rae,

Thanks for your detailed instructions.

Yesterday, I rinsed the grains with milk, used twice as much milk and set it in

the refrig I have been covering my jar with a cloth and rubber band.

Would a standard colinder be 1/8th inch?.

My experiment of putting one grain of kefir in milk worked. There are a lot of

little grailns in there. Would I dare use them?

For about six days, I have been without my KT, my green and white tea, and my

sharp cheese, and I have been drinkig kefir.

Such a quick change in diet has released my hip joint.

I just read that if you eat like a real Greek Monk, you can extend your life and

lower your incidence of cancer. They fast often. do hard physical labor, eat

mostly fruits, vegetables, hard bread, olive oil, no red meat, little dairy with

fish for a special treat.

I forwarded the article to Bev, but may have not summarized it well.

Blessings on you all. LOve. MArge.

Hello MArge,

To get the cultured milk away from the grains, this is

what I do. Before I pour the completed kefir milk out

of its brewing container, I put the lid on tight and

give the jar a good shake to mix thoroughly. Do not

worry about hurting the kefir grains, they are tougher

then you might think. Place your strainer that has

holes aprox 1/8th inch size (Tupperware large yellow

one is what I use) over a large bowl or SS bucket and

stir the grains with a SS spoon until the milk has

strained thru and all you have left in the strainer is

your grains. DO NOT RINSE THE GRAINS. Place grains

back into your hot water cleaned brewing container,

add your milk and either stir or put the lid on tight

and shake the container. Place container on the

counter to culture with the lid just ever so slightly

loosend. Pour the cultured milk into another glass

jar, cover and place in the refrig to cool & store.

Pour yourself a big glass & enjoy!

happy brewing to you,

Rae in Idaho

Dear Ones,

We were almost as bare as Mother Hubbard's cupboard.

I still don't know how to get the clabber off the

grains while straining them.

I am using more milk and hope to harvest before the

clabber stage. Ha.

Blessings on you all. LOve. MArge.
