I use a canning funnel and a small plastic strainer. Pour small amounts of

the " clabbered " milk into the strainer which is resting on the canning

funnel (plastic) which is resting in the mouth of a clean jar. Then I tap

the strainer against the funnel, either side to side or up and down which

allows the kefir to separate from the grains.

Marge,

If your kefir is really thick, reach in with very clean hands and pull

your grains out and skip the straining altogether. They will be at the

top and even if you can't see them you can feel them. My kefir is as

thick as yogurt and that's what I do. Saves a lot of work too, lol.

I still don't know how to get the clabber off the grains while

straining them.
