Aha, we live and learn.

I'm not overly bothered about water Kefir for myself.

Mam used to refer to me as " The calf " on account of the amount of milk i put

away, so no Lacto-intolerance there.

I was just curious about the water one, I wasn't aware there were any

ingredients other than water & kefir grains involved

Nn. England.

Hi there ...

It is more expensive to produce than KT. Lemons and ginger costing quite a

bit.

I use half a lemon or lime peeled and sliced...about a teaspoon of sliced

ginger or more to taste....a handful (maybe fifty?)of unsulphured raisins

and a half cup (100 grams) of sugar in a two liter wide mouthed jar and a

pinch or two of Himalayan Sea Salt for the added minerals. Then I fill it up

with spring or well water. Treated water or purified water will not do.

I tried other, more expensive, dried fruits...works ok...but seems the

raisins give a better flavor.

Hope I didn't repeat myself...

I've just been using the grains and water and sugar on occasion, or grains,

water, sugar and a dollop of whatever juice i had handy. I found fruit made

a mess o things, it was a bitch to get the grains and the fuit to seperate,

especially with fig seeds! thought that did send it a lovely rose colour
