Topic: Applied Behavior Analysis: Practical Applications

Many children with serious behavioral issues do not respond to usual

positive, commonplace interactions. Even children and adults in the general

population who struggle with specific unwanted behaviors may be frustrated by

ineffective efforts. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an approach to

studying, defining, understanding and changing unwanted or counter-productive

behavior. It has been thoroughly researched and found helpful with people with

a wide range of behavioral issues, including those with autism spectrum. The

approach is effective in all settings, including homes, schools, recreation and

therapeutic mileau. Christie Enzinna is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who

will share information about ABA and its practical applications.
