Please be sure to check out the " files " and " links " area for information on many different topics regarding education, disabilities, Medicaid, learning tools, support groups, doctor and therapist listings, and much more. Also, if you have any favorite links that you don't see listed, please feel free to add your own. If you'd like a specific resource listed, please send me the information privately. Most of the resource directories listed above are on the GA-ParentNetwork which can be found at http://www./group/GA-ParentNetwork . I'm Bowen and I live in Tucker ( Dekalb County ). I have a son , 15, who has a diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome with a very hefty dose of ADHD, Sheurmann's Disease, and a specific learning disability in Math and Written Expression. He is a 9th grader at a private school . I also have a disability called Stargardt's Disease, a degenerative retina disease for which there is currently no cure. I wanted to make sure all of you knew also about this wonderful resource. For information about membership and benefits, please visit www.arcga.org .. You will find information about The Statewide Education Committee , where we work collaboratively with other agencies in GA to improve Education, transition, policy issues, adult services and much more.. You can download membership forms off of the website or request that information be sent to you via snail mail. The Education Committee has completed a resource brochure that is being widely distributed in schools all over Georgia as well as doctor's offices, therapists' offices , organizations, and parent groups all over our State. It is not currently available on The Arc of Georgia website but , hopefully, will be very soon. I did upload the content page on GA-ParentNetwork but could not get the cover page to upload - will keep trying.
