Kombucha, Fizz, Ph

Help! My kombucha's gone flat again. Even my old stand-by, adding

crushed calcium isn't working anymore. I'm using bottled spring

water, about 8 green or black tea bags and about 1 to 1 1/2 cups sugar.

Could it have something to do with the Ph of the kombucha? It seems

to have gotten sweeter more recently also. Probably because of the

cooler temperatures as compared to summer. I have started to let it

brew longer but so far, that hasn't helped.

Where can I get Ph strips to test the Ph of my tea? Could that

prohibit fizz?

All help appreciated.
