Guest guest
Dear Marge, Detox foot pads are supposed to be the real deal. People swear by them. They are put on the soles of the feet at night and draw out toxins. I don't know which brands are considered to be most effective. From what I understand, use is nightly for a period and then it is not necessary to use them as often. I have a low-end ionic foot bath that my family and I really like, but if you didn't want to go that route or use the detox pads, good detoxing can still be done with an Epsom Salts foot bath for 30 minutes. Very warm, not too hot. A full body Epsom Salt detox bath is very effective, but can be arduous. (At least for me. I always dread them and think I am feeling just too bad to even draw the water, let alone be hot and sweaty for 30 minutes -- but once I make myself take one, I marvel that I didn't do it sooner!) Epsom Salts draw out toxins and, at the same time, give the body needed magnesium. The foot bath is tolerated by most and might be a good place to start as you weigh the pros and cons of foot pads. With both the foot bath and tub detoxes, it is very important to drink lots of water during, preferably with added minerals. Also, rinse off afterwards -- whether feet or body -- to get rid of the drawn-out toxins left on the skin. Here's to everything good for you, Marge!
