Guest guest
I am trying to gather information for a family who has two children with autism and two children who have significant developmental delays. The children are ages 2, 3, 4 and 5; the family lives in Dekalb County, specifically in the Stone Mountain area. The mother is willing to travel to other surrounding areas for good doctors. She is looking for a developmental pediatrician who takes insurance. I had suggested Dr. Weintruab but she was told that he does not accept insurance. She also is looking for a regular pediatrician who is good with children with special needs for sick visits, check-ups, etc. She would like to find a dentist who is good with children with special needs as well. Any other resources you think would be helpful to her are appreciated as well. Please send information directly to my email address because I do not always have access to the listserv. Thank you for your help! Christie Berthelsen Pre-K Special Education Teacher ABA therapist/consultant
Guest guest
I used Dr. Amy Pakula at The Marcus Institute. They do accept insurance and Medicaid/deeming waiver. They are out of network on my insurance, so deeming waiver has picked up remainder of what our insurance doesn't pay for our visits to her.
