Guest guest
Hello again! My SIL was just diagnosed with Lyme disease after a year of going to doctors and telling her it was all in her head, she was just menopausal. Anyway, she found a doctor in Wisconsin that was familiar with Lyme disease and gave her the right test. She has to take antibiotics for a year and her doctor told her not to eat sugar or wheat products. I am assuming because of the risk of an overgrowth of Candida. What can I tell her about KT and other probiotics that can help her. I want to send her one of my SCOBYs but I'm not sure she will be open to that. I told her to go to her nearest Health food store and buy some KT. Would Kefir be good also? What other probiotic foods are there for her? TIA Kim
Guest guest
Hi Kim and EveryOne, Taking antibiotics for a whole year is not without it's problems....one man I know who took antibiotics for several months for Lyme Disease ended up with Systemic Candida which was even more of a problem for him than Lymes. Your SIL will need to do a lot of research about Lyme as there are many different opinions on how to treat it and for how long. There are several groups for Lyme in line and some websites too. Guest guest
Kim, Please have her get the book, The Top 10 Lyme Disease Treatments by Rosner. I wouldn't go the way of abx, but this book does tell you how to treat with abx if you go that route. It tells you other ways to treat it , too. I am doing a natural approach (salt/C, that is unrefined salt and vit. C , see lymestrategies/ ). There is a fellow Lymie here doing it, also. We found out about KT from a Lymie at the group I mentioned above. Another natural remedy is the Rife machine ( Lyme-and-rife/ ), Rosner has a book out about this , also. I, my hubby, and my sis and bil are using a Rife machine. Also, a great Lyme site is www.CanLyme.com if you go to the symptoms page at the end of the relatively short list of diseases lyme mimics is a link that will take you to a page full of articles by dr's. Btw, my older sis was treated with abx and appeared cured. Now, 3 yrs. later, she is once again suffering with Lyme. I believe it is because of they Bb coming out of cyst form (caused by the abx). I wish your sis the very best! jan sinclai <sinclai@...> wrote: Hello again!
