Jim,

I was friends with Joanie, the victim, had met her mother, and also knew her

children. She used to work with me. I have been to her baby showers and

attended her first's baby dedication. It is a sad and tragic loss.

Her ex-husband is (was?) my Vice Principal. I know it sounds like a cliche',

but he doesn't seem the type to do such a thing. I have not always seen eye to

eye with him, but he is a great VP.

I just got home from work and missed the news (as usual) and will

probably be fast asleep by the time the 10 o'clock news comes on.

What happened in Bakersfield today?

Thanks..how tragic. I did find an article on about it. Here is

more information if anyone wants to read it. I deal with death

everyday as a nurse...you never get used to it, especially when

innocent victims are involved. It just makes me mad, sad and

frustrated at how selfish some people can be. I will add the family

and friends of that family to my prayer list..it seems to be growing

lately.

about this sometimes. they may not get capital punishment but if

they do live to go to jail, the inmates make them pay for killing

children. very sad topic but there are some crazies out there. as a

mom, i cannot imagine what it would be like to lose a child.
