Guest guest
I just completed my paperwork but I still fell under the old guidelines. When I called for an extension I was told to get my paperwork in prior to December 15th otherwise I would have to start all over. Anyone who turned in paperwork prior to the 15th with the old paperwork falls into the old criteria for determining eligibility. I was told that 50% of the kids that have been receiving deeming waiver will not qualify under the new guidelines. Guest guest
Our review normally takes place in mid November, but apparently my son's caseworker sat on our paperwork until after November 15, so we are stuck under the new criteria. When I first called and asked her about my paperwork, since we had not received it, she started out telling me she had mailed it, but then rummaged around on her desk (while I saw and listened to her talk to her coworkers about where they were going for lunch, etc.,) and then came back and told me no, she had not mailed it yet but would that week. A week later, still no paperwork, another phone call with no return phone call, so I went to the director of our local office. I finally received the paperwork on December 9th. So, I wonder if other parents have experienced this dragging of the feet to do November reviews just to push them into the new criteria instead of the old? > > > > > > Has anyone else had their deeming waiver renewal yet since the new > > > criteria went into effect? Guest guest
That is HORRIBLE - I received my paperwork the first week of November with a deadline of 11/30. I called for a week extension because of having to get medical records from 5 different doctors. When I called my caseworker gave me the extension in time and at that time told me about getting it in before the 12/15 and why!! She said the new packet is more intense and that she was told approximately 50% of her kids will not requalify!
