>Did they tape it?

Yes, they audio and video taped all the sessions. I was glad to here

reports from folks who attended other sessions than I did. I wish I had

been more present during the afternoon presentations. My back was really

hurting, and so my attention really started to wander during the afternoon.

I taped a great majority of the sessions, but I'm not sure about the quality

of the recording.

Kazuko said they would post it on the CASD website was soon as the tapes

were ready. I have not been able to pull up their website---has anyone else

had that trouble.

There were too many good choices in the afternoon sessions--what a wonderful

dilema to have. I had really wanted to hear Dr. Karnick, but missed him,

alas.

I didn't mention Dr. Rimland, but I loved hearing his story. That and I

loved hearing all the researchers calling him Bernie.

The very sad thing to me is realizing how far behind we are in Texas. I

came away from the conference feeling like the medical community here is

stuck in the 60s. Would you believe that I have heard that there are

actually still practicing psychologists and psychiatrists out there who feel

the mother is to blame? And M.D.s who consider it to still be a mental

illness? It really makes me want to kick M.D. butt.

BTW I have used Great Plains labs to test my son, and we used the

information to start yeast treatments. I found the information to be

useful, but I have found that every doctor (with the exception of my

naturopath) that I have shown the results to has questioned their accuracy

and validity, so I'm not sure how much real help they were.

> Also Dr. W is founder and director of Center for Complex I (sorry

I can't remember) Disease, (CCID) who use to work for CCID, in LA who graduate

of Harvard University who has MD and PhD; he is into the viral issues. Amy

Yasko, Ph.D., N.D., was saying about high MT, as my son, that is the one of the

sign of your child has viral problem at CASD conference. Amy thinks many

children with autism has some kind of viral issues. Amy went to Yale and

graduated as #1 student. Also Amy mentioned viral issues could be decrease by

treating heavy metals.<

Kazuko,

Thank you for sharing information from the conference. It is good to have you

with us. Dr. ordered tests when we began with him and Tristan did show

high MT. He was on the antiviral and we stopped in May but plan to go back

there. He did show improvement in every area but did have high SIB, stopping the

med didn't alleviate the SIB. That behavior is mostly likely due to seizure

activity according to the neurologist. We want to do Dr. Buttar's protocol for

metals but money is an issue right now. Also, Tristan started having seizures a

couple of months ago and is on Trileptal. Do any of you know how that drug and

the chelators or antivirals would mix?
