Guest guest
There is an excellent autism specialist here in Austin who is ABA trained as well. She was one of my sons first ABA therapists 7 years ago and went on to get her Masters in Autism Education. She is excellent at forming behavior plans and seeing what our kids are really communicating via their behavior. She is a firm believer in inclusion and treats all kids as equals in our community regardless of their abilities. I don't think you can find anyone who could help you more. She has been working individually with children in their homes for the past 7 years, living with them daily, so she has seen it all. Her name is Kaut. She is in Austin but I think she can travel. If you would like her number, please let me know. Levine in Austin Looking for help Parental support in Yoakum Texas > Hi, I am a the mother of a 7 year old with Autism who is at her wits > end. Guest guest
Thank you so much, Yes I really would like her number. If she can't travel maybe we can come to her. I just really need some help with her behaviors. The major one is her head banging. It has gotten so bad here lately she even gave herself 2 blackeyes. I worry so much about that because of her seizures. Thanks Again. Rhonda Huehlefeld; Yoakum > There is an excellent autism specialist here in Austin who is ABA trained as > well. Guest guest
Hi, I sympathize with your situation. My son also went through a period of head banging on the floor. It is very upsetting. You did not mention what you have tried so far. So if you have tried some of the ideas I am about to mention without success, I would suggest you pursue new people to help you with these same treatments (because I firmly believe in the following treatments). We have had ALOT of success with two primary areas of treatment - ABA and Dietary treatment. You can read my son's story at: http://www.autismtreatment.info/info//Dogs_Out.htm <http://www.autismtreatment.info/info//Dogs_Out.htm> I would suggest you contact Marc Mullins at marcm@... <mailto:marcm@...> he is an experienced ABA consultant based in Austin but serving all of Texas areas. I recommend him highly. For Dietary treatment- Read Serrousi's book " Unraveling the Mysteries of Autism and PDD " http://www.autismtreatment.info/info/booklist.asp?bookid=6 <http://www.autismtreatment.info/info/booklist.asp?bookid=6> Post this list again and ask for a Doctor in your area, or check the DAN list and see if there is a doctor near you- http://www.autism.com/ari/ <http://www.autism.com/ari/> Good Luck, J. Guest guest
Rhonda, I just spoke with and she said she could arrange to come to you. It really works best if she can see your child in her everyday environment and spend a lot of time just observing. What is so great about is that she doesn't have just book knowledge. She has life knowledge by living with kids with autism. And she loves it! She is an awesome person. Her number is (512) 528-9116 email kristian@... I am so excited she can help you Let me know what happens Looking for help Parental support > in Yoakum > > Texas > > > > > > > Hi, I am a the mother of a 7 year old with Autism who is at her > wits > > > end.
