Guest guest
> Hi all- we are now floating after Tropical Storm Bill passed our way today leaving over 5 inches of rain to add to the June total of 14 inches. Wonder if it went to Mel's in Alabama? > > My wonderful little Nana died June 24th. It was/is very sad. My sister, brother and I were there holding her hand and talking to her as she went quite peacefully and quietly. Not very often does one have the privilge of having your mother alive and well until age 92. She is at home now with her Lord and Savior- for which I am very grateful. Thanks for the support from this list- it means a lot to me. I miss her more each day. > > I am going to Oklahoma for the Fourth to deliver a mini-van load to Helen's. I'd rather be swimming with you all, but- by the time I looked up an air fare, it was 600 dollars- so I'll have to pass this time. I'll be thinking of Marta's wonderful house and pool, and the protein cake and all you wonderful folks. Maybe August. > > My best to all the soon to be DSers. Betsy > im sorry to hear about your loss. i lost my grandparents recently and it is still very hard for me. was this your mom or grandma?? im glad she went peacefully- that is such a blessing. it still isnt an easy thing to go through- we learn how to deal with it but the pain never goes away. i am confident, though, that she is in a beautiful place and will be right beside you in spirit forever. God Bless you and your family. vicki >
Guest guest
Betsy What a blessing that Nana was able to pass with the love of her family at her side helping her go with dignity and peace. This was a gift for her and you. She has only moved on from this earth but will forever be in your life. You can talk to her anytime and she will answer...you just have to listen with your heart instead of your ears. Hugging you with my heart Jo

Guest guest
Thanks Jo! > Now here is my dilema....Jakes will be closed fri-sun. The cake can > be picked up as late as *8 pm on Thurs.....Will it still be good on > Sunday? ==================================== Sharon it's your call....I can pick it up Thursday, no problem. Will it still be good? Probably, but why not ask Jakes if they think it will be good. After all they make them all the time and I am sure they don't always bake them the same day they sell them.... If you don't think the cake will be good (especially for what it cost) on Sunday, then lets just skip it and do it in August.... and lets see....Sequoia Sandwich Co. does a homemade choc cake that has a mean reputation, I don't know if they sell a whole cake but I bet they do. Or Hell, I think I remember how to bake??? Jo
