Guest guest
I agree with . Bad diaper rash in an asd child does not usually indicate that the child was left in a wet diaper for an extended amount of time but there is perhaps a yeast overgrowth and or an intolerence to certain foods. If I was trying to get my child back, I'd tell them (CPS) that I will get my ped to run a stool test for yeast for the diaper rash (comprehensive microbial/digestive stool analysis, I think). For the sleeping fears or night terrors, I'd tell them I " d get the ped to run a IgG antibodies test (serum). When I eat dairy, I wake up all thru the night w/night terrors (and I am a 42 year old woman). He was given a high-powered antibiotic the first night in the ER, and then was on D-5 (since he wasn't eating) and it wasn't like we left him sitting in it...it was immediately obvious when he'd pooped! The nurse on the " general dehydrated & throwing up " floor (not even peds) couldn't help me, but called a L & D nurse who recommended the corn starch. We went from LITERALLY running away screaming from the Rash Spray to having it almost HEALED within 12 hours (once the diarrhea slowed down of course). The nice thing about corn starch (and not an antifungal or anything) is that it's not designed to work for a specific type of rash...it's not designed at all, it's just natural. I have also heard (anectodally) of applying yogurt to a bad rash. Love, Diane.

Guest guest
Just a thought on help for serious rashes Don't use wet ones to clean their bottoms off, use water only and be sure to pat dry don't rub. Even letting the child go without a diaper or pull-up on will help, just getting air to the sore bottom will help. One you could use Triple antibiotic oint, if it looks like a burn the other is by prescription for real life burns, called Silvadean < Misspelled Allie

Guest guest
For those in Austin, we have had great success with 'Happy Hiney', a compound that is only available from the People's Pharmacy on N. Lamar (across from Central Market.) It works far better than Dr. 's (which is great too) or other mass market ointments. A prescription is required for the 'Happy Hiney' but it works great! - > Just a thought on help for serious rashes > Don't use wet ones to clean their bottoms off, use water only > and be sure to pat dry don't rub.
