I would recommend doind alot of education prior to your initial appointment to help " guide " the focus of treatment. Two excellent resources for bio-medical interventions are: 1)www.cbcutah.org click on the Autism refernce guide by Dr Jepson. It is exceptionally well-written and laid out and methodically takes you through the options (highly recommend reading this before going to Dr Block). 2) " Children with Starving Brains " by Dr Jaquelyn McCandless is the best book I've seen so far on this stuff > Has anyone had any experience with the Block Center in Hurst? I also know of several people who have used her directly. Most of them have been very happy with her treatment. The few who had reservations said she can sometimes get stuck on a particular protocol and not listen well or individualize treatment for each child.
