Zoe,

I am new and was just trying to figure and research this very thing. I have a

smaller scoby about 3 " in diameter and another double that size. Are you saying

that it doesn't matter the volume of tea I use with each?

It seemed logical to me that the larger one would require more tea and a bigger

jar. Would you please clarify this for me? Is it only the time frame that

changes then, regardless of the size of the scoby?

Thanks so much,

Millie

Instructions I received with my new culture said to use a 4 " or larger for a

gallon of tea,

and 3 " or larger for a half-gallon (2 litre), and 2 " or larger for a quart.

HTH.
