Hi Guys,

lets Start with the question. Have any of you been plagued with

early morning BMs? I mean...The kind that wake you up between 4 am and 10? Seems

my body has decided that my best hours of sleep are the best time to do it's

business. And as I am not up walking around and all, it takes 4 or 5 trips 15 to

30 min apart. Maybe I should take up early morning running....LOL(Nah!!)

Oh...I already do bathroom sprints...

I mentioned that GNC was getting ice cream. Kind of pricey, but if

it's just me...And I don't eat ice cream often(less than once a week) it will

be ok...at least I can eat ice cream when I want!! With the RNY the ice cream

was a disaster....Shakey, sweaty, weak....and sooooo not worth it...LOL.

As far as protein that isn't milk like, Jo got some pixie stick like

protein. I can't remember if she liked it or not....Jo? Lots of protein bars

out there now...also.

I heard subway was going to be getting low carb bread. I have been

using the natures own brand here. 2 slices is only 6 carbs and 2 fiber carbs.

I have cut carbs again trying to boost the loss(too slow) and it

seems to be helping....Tom has lost 22 lbs. Crap why do most men lose so fast??

And he doesn't have malabsorption on his side!! Made a good crustless pizza for

lunch today....Used cheese as the crust and baked it like a casserole. It was

good, even is low carbing and has lost 5 lbs. I just can't get

to join in. (Her problem...I told her I'd save my fat clothes for her....lol.

We go today or tomorrow to join the Y. I was going to last month but had a

bunch of bills due and now the join up fee is only 25 dollars(was 75) and I have

no excuse now....LOL.

Oh and something else...I got some new clothes from an

angel.....found some cute capris on sale and wore one of my " new " shirts with

it. Even

said I looked good. K- mart had some henleys on sale that were tee shirt

like, only 6 dollars a piece. I went to put some on layaway. The 3x was too big!

Had to get a 2. Now I know not all 3x's run that big, but it was nice to send

tom to get me the smaller size for once!

Seems like we have so many people with surgeries coming up....Is it

me or do they run in bunches?? Good luck to you all. I am watching all you

PS people and anxiously awaiting my time when I can get all this flab gone.

Just how much can they do at once?? I can't wait to get my arms done...If they'd

do that one now, I'd jump at it! I soo want to wear sleeveless blouses.

I'm glad it's not just me! It's like around 4:00-4:30 it starts...My eyes pop

open and my butt puckers up! Then I scoot to the BR as fast as I can. Then I

go back to sleep and repeat that whole thing about 30 min later....Hell, no

wonder I sleep late...LOL!

Every day for the last 18 months.

It is a way of life for me now. I am totally perplexed if I do have

an occaisonal bm in the evening, or if I get to " sleep in " past 6

am. It doesnt happen often, maybe once in a blue moon.lol

As Bobbe said, we all have different crosses to bear. Mine is I

will never get to sleep in again, and I have hemmeroids, anal

fissures and colon ristricting- painful but what do you do?

It is SO worth it! The changes in my life, in six short months is so

remarkable. I still have physical problems and I will always have the spinal

disease, but I LOVE LIVING LIFE again, as opposed to the miserable existence I

had

been having!

It has sort of become routine. At around 4/4:30 until about 6 I will make 3-5

trips to the bathroom for BM's and then (as long as I am not eating junk

food) not go again until maybe once in the evening. I am not fond of it, but am

used to it. Previously to surgery I had sleep apnea pretty bad and would wake up

all night. I would also get up many times a night to urinate. While up I

would start a load of laudry (next trip up, put it in the dryer), let the cat

in,

get a drink (leading to another trip?), etc. So, I suppose it is a trade off

for me.

What do you think is a normal life?? Is your life normal now?

Can you do everything you want to do now??

I say yes you can live a normal life...lol

We are all different and our lives are so different, what

we have in common is the DS, and I can't say for the others

but I LOVE THIS SURGERY!!!!!

To be able to walk my 3/4mile yesterday was something I

couldn't have done 17months ago. I wouldn't have volunteered

at my grandaughters school 17mths ago, I couldn't sit in a

booth comfortable at a restraunt 17mths ago. I would have

never gotten into a bathing suit 17mths ago. and 17mths

ago I weight 334lbs and now weigh 193.

Am I living a normal life?? For me you bet I am..

Hope that answers your question..lol you are going to be

as normal as you want to be..

Good luck and God bless

I had an internal hemmoroid before surgery but it was no big deal

then and it's never caused me a problem afterwards. Not everyone

gets hemmoroids. You really will live a normal life! There are just

a few adjustments you need to make. Don't let this stop you.
