Guest guest
well, i had made a brew about a 2 weeks before my vacation, that i bottled and left on the shelf. i then set up 2 more brews to be ready to bottle and take with me on my vacation away. one was a green tea and one was an experiment. just before i left for my vacation i made 2 more brews to be doing while i was away, one black tea and one green tea. so, the 2 bottles i made to take away with me, the green tea was delish, and just right. i enjoyed being able to have my glass of kt each morning. the experiment was a different matter. the tea was a mixture of black tea and cherry flavour celestial seasonings tea. it was awful, the third day into drinking it and my husband saw me grimacing with each mouthful i was sipping. it was almost like that horrible childrens flavoured cough medicine. he made me tip it down the drain. im glad he made me do that because i am stubborn and hate to waste stuff even if it tastes like **** . all the time i was away i kept worrying about the current lot of brew hoping it was going to be ok. i neednt have worried, it seems to be the best yet. i have the habit of keep looking at my brews and although i try not to disturb them too much im sure the slight movments of the containers does upset the scobys a little bit. the 2 brews that were undisturbed for almost a week tasted the best and the baby scobys are the thickest ive had so far. i have now bottled these latest 2 and am happy to have a decent slight surplus of kt for myself. i dont need to make 2 lots of brew anymore just yet, so have placed all the spare scobys in some fresh green tea with a bit of old tea. this is my scoby supply now. if i allow a baby to form in the " spares " container, will it be ok to push it under the tea to encourage new babys to form on a regular basis? i would like to have enough scobys to use for teas and also to use on my eczema when im in the shower. im annoyed by my mothers narrow mindedness. she keeps making comments about the weird corner in my kitchen. i was drinking a glass of kt lastnight and said to her to have a taste of this, and told her it was my latest ginger beer brew from my gingerbeerplant. she really liked it, until i told her what it really was. heather
