Guest guest
, I do know that the Ohio State University NIMH study is using this. However, from the discussion at the ISNR, I don't know what research is behind this. Connie ADHD ratios Hi all, Following from this exchange on the theta/beta ratio in ADHD, I've come across some articles which point out this measure: beta/(theta+alpha) as a good indicator for ADHD. Has anybody use this type of measure? Thanks, Bye for now, -------Prof.Dr. Alvoeiro,Ph.D.(Hull,UK),C.Psychol.(BPS,UK) 2000-119 Santarem, Portugal E-mail: jorge.alvoeiro@... http://jorge0alvoeiro.no.sapo.pt/ De: pvdtlcEnviada: dom 11/14/2010 06:39Para: Assunto: Re: PTSD Thanks . Sure looks a lot like hot right temporal lobes. I believe MEG is actually able to see brain structures that are "invisible" to the EEG (areas like the amygdala and hypothalamus, which are made us stellate neurons instead of the pyramidal ones the EEG can read). I'd love to know it they were able to identify the areas where this excessive activation was taking place. There is also a very interesting overview on ADHD, the theta/beta ratio and alpha peak frequencies ( http://qeegsupport.com/new-study-shows-the-increase-in-thetabeta-ratio-on-resting-state-eeg-in-boys-with-attention-deficithyperactivity-disorder-is-mediated-by-slow-alpha-peak-frequency/ ).Many years ago, in an attempt to make the TLC Assessment more responsive to age differences, I developed a way of inputting what appeared to be the alpha peak frequency and then adjusting the various measures (including theta/beta ratio) according to the client's apparent theta, alpha and beta frequencies based on peak alpha). I gave it up after running about 10 kids through it, because everyone came out "normal" in terms of T/B ratios. Interesting to see that verified here.Pete-- Van Deusenpvdtlc@...http://www.brain-trainer.com/USA 305 433 3160BR 47 3346 6235The Learning Curve, Inc.
