Win7 Can't Find an open Com port

I may be the first to have this exact problem. I'm familiar with the issue from

XP but I can't find a way to get 7 to give me a new com port for my QDS 256. BE

just lists 3 and 4 and both are being used for Bluetooth. I vaguely remember

that there used to be list of comports and what was in them but I can't remember

how to show it. Also, BE only offers me the two comports above and nothing else.

I'm ope n to ideas or else its another monday with no computer!
