Hi. Thanks for the positive feedback. Has anyone had a T & A and still get the

fever? My daughter who has had for one and a half years (she is now 4)

had a T & A last week. It was a little tricky to schedule because of her fever

and Motrin. Her fever was due today and she got it - just a week after her T & A.

So now she is still recovering from the T & A and has a high fever. I am just

wondering if anyone else experienced this or if the fevers went away right away.

Thanks

Kim

My daughter had her regular fever after T & A the first time and then no

more.

It's been 4 years now and fever free. Her tonsils were healthy and the

doc said looked good and no need to take them out.

We had them taken out anyway for the chance of a fever free life and

it's the best decision we've ever made.

my son pierce had fevers for over 2 years. he had a tonsillectomy on

March 31 and has been fever free. also, his anterior cervical lymph

nodes(nodes in front of neck) were always a mildy palpable, but now

they are not. i hope i am not jinxing him by saying this. his

recovery was not any worse than any of his episodes.

Hi Kim,

My son, Braden, did experience a similar thing.  After his tonsillectomy, he got

a fever just a short time later.  I was so discouraged.  After the one fever,

however, he proceeded to have about a year break from fevers (a most blissful

time).  He is now four and is having fevers from time to time, but they are

fewer with longer breaks between, in fact, we can't even predict when they are

coming because they don't happen all that often now.  They are also less severe

than before the surgery two and a half years ago.  I hope this helps.

Blessings,
