Guest guest
Hi, my name is Kristy Swanson. I live about 60 miles south of Atlanta, Georgia. I have two daughters - Kassidy (2) and Presley (6 months). Kassidy was diagnosed with on 8/12/2008. I took her to the pediatrician and he diagnosed her with the coxsackie virus for the forth time. I brought this to his attention and he started research right away. He also referred her to an ENT specialist. She first presented with this when she was 6 months old. She has been diagnosed with pneumonia, sinus infection, strep throat, severe throat infection, coxsackie virus, and tonsillitis; before was entertained. This is her 3rd time on steroids, they seem to bring on the next episode sooner. I have been doing nonstop research and I am seeing many studies where a tonsillectomy put the children in complete remission. Can you guys give me some input? I have a call in to the doctor to discuss the options. He does not want her on steroids and I completely agree, but he wants to be aggressive with her pain management and I am not sure that is what I want either. As a mother, I am completely heartbroken but also completely driven to explore all avenues of treatment. I know you all have been going through this much longer and have alot more information compiled. Please educate me.
