Welcome Donna,

This group is great and you'll fall in love with each and every one of us.

We are so helpful and friendly.... :o)

I take MTX also and was afraid to at first because of the hair loss side

effect. I started off at 7.5 mgs. also and I've stayed there ever since but

I've only been taking it for about three or four months. At my next

Rheumatologist's appointment, I am going to ask him if I can reduce it just

because I don't think it's good for my body. I know he won't let me until I

am weaned off of the Prednisone that I've been on for over a year. I am down

to 5 mgs. of Prednisone at the moment and he's letting me reduce by 1 mg.

every two weeks starting in October so, hopefully, I'll be able to get off of

it soon. I haven't noticed any hair loss so far. I have had periods when

I'll lose hair for about a month or so, (heavily) but I've attributed that to

Prednisone or maybe a flare. It's scary and I always think it will never

stop falling out but it does. I have no clue to why that happens. I don't

know about you but I don't have that much to lose...... :o( I guess

others will write and let you know their hair loss experience taking MTX. I

also take Enbrel along with the MTX and Prednisone.

Take care and it's always great to have another newcomer to share our ups and

downs.

xxoo

Carmen
