Guest guest
It is a struggle paying for my HAART and other needed prescriptions. I filled my Reyataz and Ziagen prescriptions and had to pay $1250.00 out of my pocket; actually I had to charge them because I do not have that kind of cash. I am in the "window" of Part D and have to pay $1096.00 more until I am in the catasrophic coverage phase. This is the first year I have had the new Medicare coveerage and will not be able to afford it next year if it is the same guidelines. If anyone knows of a particular insurance company that has good Medicare Part D coverage, please let me know. Bobby
Guest guest
Bobby, If you are able to, you should use the plan-finding tools at www.medicare.gov to find the cheapest plan available in your area, based upon the drugs you are taking. You have to enter the names and doses of all of the drugs you are taking, then the web site generates a list of plans available in your area and the estimated annual cost to you of participation in each plan. This makes it relatively easy to find the cheapest plan. If you are not able to do this yourself, you should ask a computer-savvy friend or contact an AIDS service organization and ask if they can help you with this. I believe the "Medicare and You" booklet that is mailed to all Medicare recipients lists organizations in each state that provide assistance to Medicare beneficiaries. I consulted with a group in California that had knowledgeable and helpful volunteers, mostly seniors used to helping other seniors. You should also check with your local ADAP program to find out if they will provide assistance with your drug payments. ADAP in California currently pays costs for formulary drugs not covered by Medicare Part D for income-eligible California residents. forluvcme <forluvcme@...> wrote: It is a struggle paying for my HAART and other needed prescriptions. Guest guest
Sierra of Las Vegas, suddenly dropped their hiv clients in a number of states. There were the only Health Plan that paid through the donut hole for 2007. Thus, making it extremely unlikely that there will be any plans covering this for 2008. It's osmething that national AIDS advocacy groups are working with Congress and states to remedy.... Healthfully & electronically yours, " Gravy Boat " Goldman yangzpa@... Guest guest
Sierra has been ordered to reinstate folks they have dropped. Can we find out in this case if that has happened? Thanks Eddie Hamilton See what's free at AOL.com.
