Hi,

I was wondering if any of the original members were still online and if the

kids every truly outgrew the syndrome?

Jessika is now 12, she has been through it all and after a T & A and then

cimetidine for a year she was pretty much done with the fevers by age 6. Just a

rare one here and there. She almost always had joint pain with her fevers. The

only remnents she has still are canker sores which sometimes can be pretty bad.

My current issue with her is joint pain in the wrists and ankles. She has been

wearing a splint on her wrist for about a month and before that we had her foot

wrapped in a bandage also for about a month. She has had x-rays and had a

negative lyme test. When she was little they thought she had JRA but ruled it

out and diagnosed Pfapa instead. ANA was positive both times they tested it

(when she was 4) and sed rate was only high during fevers. They screwed up at

the lab last week and only tested for lyme, not these tests again. Growing pains

I was told is generally just the hips and knees, not wrists and nothing looked

wrong in the x-rays.Motrin does not seem to help the pain for her.She has no

fevers, just canker sores.

so.. Do any of our older kids who no longer have fevers have any issues with

joint pains in these areas? There is no swelling, no reddness and no fever.

We'll be back at the doctors again soon, just not sure what ask for. Any advice

would be appreciated!
