My daughter, who will be 9 in April, was diagonosed with when

she was 4. The doctor said that by the time she was 6 we would

notice the fevers slowing down - and sure enough she was sick on her

6th birthday and then only had small fevers ever since. About 6

months ago the entire cycle of fevers started back - and she has had

the fever, sore throat, mouth sores and swollen glands like

clockwork. Has anyone else ever experienced a break and then had the

fevers return? I am so frustrated! We took her to the doctor during

the last two episodes because the body aches were so severe - we were

HOPING she had something else (like strep or something that would

respond to meds) - the first time they thought she had a sinus

infection and gave her antibiotics - which did nothing. The second

time they were sure it was strep - the quick test came back negative

but they sent it to the lab - and gave her antibiotics - then the

long test came back negative. The doctor was shocked because she was

SURE it was strep. My daughter didn't respond to the antibiotics

either time. I don't know for sure if the doctor actually believes

in the diagnosis - my father - who is an Endocrinologist out of

town is the one who originally diagnosed her - and I took a lot of

paperwork in to our Pediatricia that my Dad sent me - he said he was

CERTAIN of HIS diagnosis of her - and the Pediatrician somewhat

reluctantly agreed. I'm just curious if there are others out there

who had a break and then had the fevers return?

Thanks,

Gilman
