Hi all,

I know this may sound silly but, where do you buy the supplies to make

all of your products? Is there one good source for everything or do you

just buy from whomever you can get it from? I would like to find a

supplier for the oils and also soap bases. Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi - I just joined this group. I've been on the diet for about 1 year. It's

great. I have fibro & take magnesium (along with other vitamins & a couple

meds.) I think it helps. Let me know what you're doing for your fibro......

Hi Carol D. , as I just sent, I have fibro and take 5-HTP too. Exercise is

a big one for me. I go to the pool twice a week and do water

workouts/jogging. Twice is about all I can handle of the chlorine. Wish

that wasn't a factor. But I decided I do better exercising that way and

dealing with the chlorine than not. I have back/structural problems, too,

so anything else aggravates me too much. I also do callanetics in between

and ab stuff. I don't work out as vigorously as O's are supposed to need,

but have to be careful to balance with stretching in my case. Have some

Yoga tapes and props I haven't tried yet for that. I'm on a long term detox

program: colon cleansers, parasite/candida cleansers,

glandular/eliminative organ cleansers and immune/vitamin & mineral, etc.

rebuilders. I also just got rid of all my amalgam except under one cap I

will replace next insurance year (maxed out). So I am working on clearing

out heavy metals. I think that is a big problem with me. I also take a

thyroid rebuilder and lots of other herbs, etc. for symptoms. I have major

trouble with sleeping. Anyone have any suggestions for dealing with that?

I use melatonin, valerian root, Kava kava, white willow back (or Oak - I

get them mixed up) for pain, and sometimes when I am desperate resort to

drugs (Ambien, tylenol pm, muscle relaxants in the past but not lately).

I've found in general I do better without drugs but sometimes get so tired I

get desperate for some sleep. I need to do a really good cleansing fast.

Harder when its cold and live in AK where it was 20 below last night.

Winter is digging in. Sitting under my full spectrum light right now. Its

7:30 and pitch black. Should get light in a few hours. I know SAD has

affected me somewhat but 5_HTP helps that. Anyway - as for cleansing -

waiting till after my husbands bd at least next week - then going out of

town - then Thanksgiving - then Christmas. Uhh. Hmm. When should I

cleanse? Jeanie

My magic bullet for this is to take a blow dryer set on high and blast it

all over the mold. It's not hot enough to melt the plastic (unless you hold

it really close and don't move it around), but most of the time it will melt

the soap slightly and allow it to be removed from the mold.

Bona fortuna!

Dear Connie:

Trying using an over the counter normal saline nasal spray. It may

help to lubricate your nose, decrease the swelling, and you can use it

as much as you want. It is not like other nasal sprays which become

addictive if used too much or too long. This is just salt water that may

really help. Marty

Thanks Marty........I hate stuff like that though, but

I will try it. My Mom use to have to wrestle me down

when I was little to put nose drops in my nose and

then hold me down so would drain through

passages........smile

Hello, e-group members,

About AIDS testing and results, I have a couple of thoughts and will

keep it brief.

1. The point of keeping results strictly confidential is to encourage

people to come in for testing. This is a longstanding caveat of STD

control. There is a ton of information on it in the public health

literature. To even discuss abandoning this principle is a bizarre turn

of events, but let's call it part of the learning curve on STD control.

2. Even if testing results were distributed across the border, what

would be the advantage? Especially with a virus like HIV, which does

not show up in tests for 6 months after exposure and usually takes years

to be noticeable to an infected person.

3. Controlling HIV was effective at least for a while in the gay

community in San Francisco. Could we take some pointers from that

change? Controlling HIV requires a collective effort, not individually

based change after someone has become infected. (Unless indeed the

effort will be to quarantine those infected. As I understand it, Cuba

has taken this approach, but I do not know what the data show about

this.)

4. I agree that transmission of AIDS from the U.S. to Mexico is a

concern and have heard it is a problem for some rural communities.

There are social dimensions of this phenomenon: husbands traveling to

work far away for long periods while their wives stay home in rural

Mexico, for example. (This situation parallels that in southern Africa

with miners.)

Another aspect of AIDS transmission across the border is tourism and

travel by business people. Apparently no one is discussing screening

those people--why? Is there a class bias here?

5. I understand that TB screening is being done routinely on the border

with X-rays on Mexicans coming in to the U.S. That is, X-rays are being

done at the border as part of official border crossings. I don't know

if anyone has reliable information about this, but the description I

received was really ugly and it sounds potentially dangerous to the

health of those getting the X-rays.

6. If people are crossing the border without documentation, why would

anyone think it would be possible to track their medical records to

their home communities? It is true that migrant farm workers, among

others, will freely talk about where they are from under the right

circumstances, but they will quickly learn not to if the ramifications

of doing so are negative for them or their family members.

Those are a few thoughts that occurred to me as I read the egroup

messages. I hope we can all figure out how to deal constructively and

successfully with AIDS.

Ray Has a lot of other problems too as I mentioned before. He is mentally

retarded, but they were aware of that from birth. He had brain damage and a

traumatic birth. He weighed less than two pounds at birth. In addtion to

that he's been taking phenobarbitol to control seizures since he was a year

old. That causes brain damage too when you take it that long. He's autistic.

He has cerebral palsy, club feet ... he really had so many birth defects, I

don't think I could possibly name them all. My sister was told he would

never live to be six months old, then 5, and then that he'd never walk or

talk. He's 20, walks and uses sign language. Not bad considering what he

lived through. And yes, he's happy as long as he has Nascar racing, the

Dukes of Hazzard (or anything with fast cars) music and a few pot lids to

spin. He loves to dance. He loves everyone he meets. Everyone he knows loves

him too.

Hi Maureen,

I'm sorry to hear that your son has had to have so many surgeries. I

realized, after coming to this site and 's, that we were

extremely lucky to be referred to the surgeon that has been treating

Vinny. We are located in Rockledge, Florida. It is on the Space

Coast in Brevard County (near Cocoa Beach and Kennedy Space Center).

The surgeon does all of his operations at Holmes Regional Medical

Center in Melbourne, and is the only Otologist / Neurotoligist in

this area. Please email me if you would like more information.

I am glad to see that some others besides me were skeptical of the supplement. All of us need to be vocal about our treatment for RA. I think after a period of time we come to accept the diagnosis and learn to make peace with it. I myself have found online support groups for autoimmune diseases very helpfull. I hope that our RA group keeps staying active. We as a group can offer support to each other. I am amazed at how many rheumatologists and other specialists there are on the east coast. In the midwest we did not have this huge selection of doctors to choose from.

We did have a great South End soup night. Elma -- I am also planning on

going to the Northend -- Maybe we can arrange to car pool, or anyone else

from our neck of the woods. Let me know.

I live in Lakewood -- where is there a good place to meet?

Isn't this a wonderful surgery. I can't believe I'm doing so well. Today I'm

sitting at the computer with one knee bent on the CPU. This I used to do

before the surgery. I'm almost back to normal. I noticed the swelling is

gone now.

You keep up the good work too. This is a great group. Without your good

advice I don't think I would be this good. Thanks all.

Tamiflu was created at Gilead Sciences when Rumsfeld was in charge there. His holdings in Gilead in 2001 were estimated to be up to $20 million. Imagine what he's making off this incredibly brazen flu scare. 60 or so deaths, in eight years from a bird virus? Yet it is making millions in profits for investors. I just saw a faxed opportunity to buy stocks in an aerosol disinfectant company located in China--millions to be made.

In Germany, free range flocks have been ordered into buildings (wiping out the free range chicken industry, to the delight of industrial agriculture proponents), and helicopters are circling the skies, watching for renegade flocks (and their owners).
