this concerns me as we just saw a rhuematologist yesterday. He said that what

our son has is not genetic as we have not seen anything like this in any other

family members. Does this sound right?

We are struggling with something else on top of these fevers. We spent two

nights in the hospital last week as our son has C Diff Colitis from antibiotic

use. He got dehydrated and we were unable to give him the medicine for the c

diff.

Anyway, we are trying to get past this c diff so we can go ahead with a

tonsillectomy. The infectious disease dr said that would be our best choice

considering all that we are going through. We have yet to try the prednisone

because since we got the prescription he had an ear infection that would not go

away, then the antibiotics then the c diff.

He has only had two other ear infections in his life, so this was new to us.

There has been no talk of genetic testing.

No does not sound right. Just bc you have never seen it in the family does not

mean that a gene does not exist in you childs body. Seesh! I wonder what this

doctor thinks of rare genetic disorders? I would not accept this lame answer.

Hello!

My son Dashall (23 months) was " diagnosed " with in March by my

pediatrician, after he started fevering again after a 7 month hiatus.

The pediatrican group had an idea of what was going on based on having

another child in their practice with the same symptoms. We also tried

prednisone once while on vacation and the fever stopped right away.

Returning quickly, and considering his manic mood, we have not given it

again. The Dr. has kept up to date with specialists at UCSF, so we

didn't seek more answers. However, after two particularly bad fever

episodes (both while on vacation!) we have an appointment with Dr.

Milojevic next month. I recognized her name and read your post... Are

you happy you saw this particular Dr.? I have read on this site to see

a Infectious Disesaes specialist? She is Rheumatology, yes? We have

absolutely no reason to believe that what Dash is suffering from is

genetic, based on our family histories. Was there anything she asked

you that would be helpful for me to think about? How long did she spend

in the evaluation? Any other info would be great.

We also have a referral for an ENT in Oakland because Dash has had

6+ear infections and has a speech delay. I want to know all our

options, T and A being one of them. We are not big on the routine

medicine route. My pediatrician said to see Dr. Milojecic first, but

the appointment is so far away. Anyone have an opinion?

Thank you!

Teja (Mom of Dash, fevering since 8 months, and Rowan 4 3/4, fever free)
