Guest guest
Hi Everyone- I know that I am late on replying, but better late then never, right?? I am in the process of weaning off the prednisone also. In the past two years I have come so close to 5 but had to go back up. Last time I went from 7.5 to 5 and I ended up in the hospital with pericardis. Which was no fun. Then of course I had to start all over again, back up to 60mg. I've come to the conclusion that I really like to breath. I would rather breath and be overweight & swollen then not be able to breath and be just overweight. And I want to be here to watch my son grow-up!!! Now I am on 6 mg of pred but my rheumy upped my MTX to 20mg a week. And I am feeling GREAT!!! I am so glad that I feel good and that I am starting to look more like myself. You guys know how important that is to us, my family keeps saying " Oh you look fine " , when I know differently. I just wanted to let everyone know my experience with weaning off. For those of you that are weaning off pred. right now, my only advice is to go slow because the slower you go the longer you will be off of this awful drug. I am tryin to take my own advice. I start to get anxious when I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just want to be off of this and in remission. Some day soon, I just need to be patient. Take care everyone. I pray for you all every night!!! Love & support, Keri & Bryce
