If so, have you had any problems with them? I am in a situation where a permanent bridge is no longer an option, and I am considering implants. Guest guest
Phyllis, My 21 year old daughter got 2 dental implants last year. She doesn't have CML, but we were pleasantly surprised at how well it all went. Not much pain involved, no infections, and no problems what so ever with the implants themselves. ________________________________ From: Phyllis <phyld1943@...> Sent: Wednesday, March 18, 2009 10:42:03 AM Subject: [ ] Dental Implants Has anyone in the group had dental implants? Guest guest
My brother in his 50's had implants his body rejected them and wound up in the hospital. Please be careful. I know lots of people have implants and do just fine. ________________________________ From: Phyllis <phyld1943@...> Sent: Saturday, March 28, 2009 9:42:14 AM Subject: [ ] Dental Implants Dear Group ~ Since my last posting, I have had an attempted root canal, but the tooth was too calcified to continue the procedure. The tooth was also abcessed. It had to be removed by an oral surgeon. That was over a week ago, and my face is still bruised and puffy from the procedure, and it is quite painful.. The oral surgeon also saw a " spot " on the roof of my mouth that he is going to watch. We're hoping that it is just a bruise from all the dental work that I have had done lately. He took a photo of it and will use it as a comparison of my mouth in one month. My regular dentist has made me a " flipper " to replace this tooth and the one that was removed two months ago. It has teeth and wires that will attach to my remaining teeth. I haven't been in to get it yet; my mouth is just too sore. My oral surgeon still says that I am a candidate for implants. After all the trouble that I am having with tooth extractions, I am beginning to have my doubts. I have always taken care of my teeth and can't believe all of this is happening. I keep wondering is it CML, 800mg of Gleevec daily, or just plain old age (65). Phyllis in MI dx 2003
