I was the exact same for about 2 months after starting Gleevec and then it eased

off but always stayed " Loose " .

Could be? From all the info I read on this - at least 67% report some sort

of gastro-intestinal upset (diarrhea etc) ..its very common and one of the

biggest complaints I have heard...

Your doctor has never heard of someone having diarrhea while on Gleevec? It's

one of the most common side effects there is. How many patients on Gleevec does

your doctor have?

Have you tried Imodium? I used it regularly for a couple of years with great

success, then the diarrhea subsided and now I hardly ever need the Imodium. If

Imodium doesn't work, there are prescription drugs you can get that are

stronger.

Hello,

I have no answers but am interested in the responses.I have been on Gleevec

for 9 months now.I have had the occassional issue with Diahrea.I have something

new happening now..TMI and embarrasing but need answers so I will comment.I

have woke in the morning to having soiled myself during the night.I feel no urge

or ergency.I am asleep and sleep through the entire thing.I wake to a mess.I

usaually suffer severe constipation now I am messing myself.I am having stool

incontinence ONLY in my sleep.I am only 41.I have IBS and Diverticulosis but

never had lthese issues just constipation.I am having Right lower abdomin

swelling Look preggo ONLY on the RIGHT.I have increased

gas,pain,odor,cramps,bloat,discomfort.Any ideas?

I just reduced from 600 mg to 400 mg.I was taking 300mg AM and 300 Mg PM.Now

just taking 400 mg PM.Trying to reduce to help with other side effects that I

have been having for the past 9 months.

Any help or others facing Stool incontinance? Is this a normal side effect?

Hello,

Forgot to add that these issues started AFTER I reduced the Gleevec from 600

to 400.Not while I was on the higher dose.It was reduv=ced due t OTHER side

effects..

My mother has the same problem, don´t worry, it´s because of gleveec.

It sounds like you need to speak to your specialist to get some answers for you

Have you tried eating more fiber?  Also Metamucil works real well to help stop

this problem. If one dose does not work, try two.  Also, have you had a

colonoscopy lately?
