Guest guest
Where does one buy Pure Coconut oil, almond oil or Jojoba oil? These were some ideas for use in thinning hair. Thanks, Betty Pappas MGB: 3/13/01 250/
Guest guest
Betty, Did you finally get on the list? Let me know. I am slowly getting back to doing a little at a time. My brother in law is still on life support, but yesterday his kidney shut down, and I do not think he is going to make it, they can not wake him up, even cutting down the seditives to almost nothing, he is no longer responding at all, they are afraid of brain damage. Just wanted to touch base, and I saw you post and didn't know if you got that through the list or if someone forwarded it to you. Guest guest
If you have natural food stores or vitamin stores, not GNC type, you can find it. aW Re: Thinning hair Where does one buy Pure Coconut oil, almond oil or Jojoba oil? Guest guest
Holly, When I was very sick with Lyme and on loads of antibiotics, my hair drastically thinned out in the front. I would find a lot of hair on the floor of the shower. I even had to start combing it differently. It has come back significantly over the past couple of years. Antibiotics taken for extended periods of time are known to do that. Sue Rauch
Guest guest
HI, When my daughter was very sick at a very young age (it was diagnosed as Henoch-Schoenlein Purpura, basically a type of vasculitis), she lost almost all of her hair. It was frightening to find entire ringlets on her little pillow. She was in tremendous pain and had swelling that would come and go. The wonderful pediatric chief of staff who stepped in and took over her case because it was so highly unusual said he felt the hair loss might have been a strong indicator of auto-immune response -- or it even could have been from swelling, causing the hair to break right at the scalp. She was having so many strange and horrid symptoms, but the hair loss was the most visible and made this little girl feel even more freakish. I have wondered since -- now that my son is so sick with Lyme -- if she might have been suffering from Lyme, too. All I know is that I.V. gamma globulin given every three weeks over the course of 6 months slowly turned her health back around. She is now in 8th grade and doing pretty well, which is alot to be grateful for! Take care, everyone... ~Judie
Guest guest
Dear Janet & others, I too have hair that has thinned out tremendously. I know that hair loss/baldness is one of the items on those Lyme check lists. Haven't a clue about the metabolic mechanism. Does anyone else know? Is it hair follicles damaged by the bacteria? Hormone imbalance? Wild guesses, I have no idea. best, bluesky
Guest guest
I noticed a posting on this or another Lyme group about someone being told she had elevated DHEA levels and that this was a known product of the Lyme. One of the undesirable side effects of DHEA is hair loss. Has anyone else heard of elevated DHEA levels beign associated with Lyme? > Has anyone noticed that since they have been so sick and on so many > antibiotics that their hair has gotten much thinner? Guest guest
Dear , I always had thick hair until I started taking Inteferon. It started to come back with Gleevec, but then started getting thin again. On Sprycel, it started getting thick again and now in the SKI trial, it is so thin, the dermatologist noticed and asked if my hair was always like that. He said there are hundreds of thousands of little hair underneath there that will eventually grow out, but I will continually lose what I now have. He also asked if it was the same texture and I said it was frizzy. He said it was indictive of chemo. I certainly do envy anyone who ages as I have and still have a full head of hair. My sister is older and still has a full head of hair. My oldest brother died at 88 and had a full head of hair. My other brother is now 88 and still has a crop of grey hair that he cuts GI style. Nothing we can do to control it. Blessings, Lottie
Guest guest
Granny's hair is thinning. She is on Gleevec daily, and antibiotics almost all the time. With the antibiotics, a perm won't take. Her hair is thin and what she has, she can't do much with it. So, yesterday she sort of had a melt down. With the Thyroid problem, the CML, the constant bladder infections and she got a stuffed up nose and then her hair is so thin, she is sick of feeling bad and now her hair is coming out. She is better today. I am going to get her to come over Saturday and we are going to look at wigs and try to get one ordered for her. I feel so bad for her. I know she could be alot worse off but, that's hard to see when you do feel so bad. [ ] Thinning hair Dear , I always had thick hair until I started taking Inteferon.
