Guest guest
Hi Marilla, Just noticed this today! (8/4/05.) Just noticed this. I have ben involved in an Aspie related project that has been taking up a lot of my time. Can't say what it is. I will try to participate more in the near future. Tom Hey, where have you been? Guest guest
Marilia, Thanks, but I am not at liberty to say what it is. Sorry to tease you. Suffice it to say that many of us who run these groups do Aspie- related work outside of them. , for example, has this interview going with CAN. And he is trying to get us all to stop using the term " NT " which I think are good efforts on his part. I have a desire to make the world a better place for Aspies and recently I figured out one way to do it. Inger also has various projects in the works. For me, these groups can be a place to socialize, have fun, talk about things, meet other Aspies, etc., but I provide the groups less for my own reasons than just to make sure other Aspies have a place to go when they need it. Sometimes I create or assist with other projects external to the group as well. Tom Oh, but you will be able to tell us about it some other time, right? Got CURIOUS! Good luck in whatever it is. Guest guest
Leif, Regarding CAN, is trying to get some concrete answers out of them regarding what their agenda truly is. He's solicited questions from us to ask them regarding their desire to " cure " autistics. It's a great opportunity to provide them with the message that we don't want to be changed or cured. As to the use of the term " NT " , it has increasingly taken a negative connotation when used. People are equating the term with racial slurs, and so we are now using the term " non-Aspie " when referring collectively to anyone NOT diagnosed Aspie. Tom > , for example, has this interview going with CAN. And he is > trying to get us all to stop using the term " NT " which I think are > good efforts on his part. I haven't been reading lately, but why would we do that? And how come that CAN seems to have become so popular recently? Have CAN changed their policy about curing autism or are some Aspies now seeking a cure instead of advocating acceptance of differences???
