,

I've been on MTX for about 4 years. It, along with Prednisone, have

been my two mainstays as other drugs have come and gone (Sulfasalazine,

Arava, Enbrel, Remicade). It seems to me I was told it would take at least 6

weeks to see any improvement. Like many others have reported I was unaware

how much it was helping until going off it. I had to stop this spring during

a Staph infection and subsequent surgery and have had a difficult time

getting the disease under control again. As of this week we're increasing my

injection to 1.2 cc weekly and hopefully that will help.

I never thought I could learn to give myself injections but once I did

it is so much easier on the stomach, not having to deal with the nausea.

Definitely take Folic Acid, that's supposed to help with hair loss.

I'm so happy to hear that you've been in contact with Bridgett. She and

Kim have been in my thoughts lately. Would you mind sending me her email

addy? I got to meet her at the Idaho mini conference along with and

would love to correspond.

Good luck with the MTX and I'm hoping its benefits kick in soon for you.

Love, Barb
