Guest guest
Hello All, I have an update on the aforementioned boy. I am training 15 minutes at C4 SMR down and 10 minutes at F4 beta down. He is about half way through training (20 sessions), and his mother reported that his tics have gotten worse. He is able to control his emotionality, but his mother is very concerned that the tics and OCD (repetitive/checking) behaviors are worsening. Do you have any suggestions? Also, he has great difficulty training. Often the feedback has to be above 92%, and even then, the feedback is quite minimal. Any help and/or advise in this matter is appreciated. Thank you, Amber > > > Hello, > > > > I am training a seven-year old boy diagnosed with PDD NOS who also > > suffers from motor tics, inattention, and social interactions. Guest guest
Why are you training SMR down at C4?Pete-- Van Deusenpvdtlc@...http://www.brain-trainer.com 305/433-3160The Learning Curve, Inc. Guest guest
Amber,Well, if I were training someone to reduce tics and compulsive activity, and both were getting worse, I would stop that protocol after the first or second trial and go on to something else in my plan. At this point, 20 sessions into training and with no real idea of what the client's brain looks like, we'll be shooting in the dark. If I had to do that, I guess I might try: Mastoid Crease behind the right ear/Fp1, train SMR percent up (might have to adjust the SMR band depending on his age.C4/P4, train SMR % up again (ditto changing the band as needed). The first might help with the compulsive behaviors; second with the tics.
