Nick, you indicated in one of your postings that your insurance now covers Suulptura injections. Can you please tell us about your insurance and the procedures that you needed to complete in order to get approval? I currently have Unicare HMO, however, through my employment I have many options available through other HMO's, PPO's etc etc.

Hi, My Sculptura treatments have been through Kaiser which is my insurance. I have had absolutley no cost- for product nor treatment- not even a co-pay. They are only doing it at 2 of their hospitals here in the East Bay area and so have a bit of a wait time in between treatments. But between Oct. 2005 and Dec. 2006 I received 6 treatments. My understanding is that Kaiser is doing this as a restorative procedure and not cosmetic which is why they are covering it. All I had to do was get my doctor to refer me to the plastic surgery department. They took about a month to call me and set up an appointment. I received a consultation and the first treatment at my first appointment. I have been very happy with the results. I am including a before and after pic to see the difference. The 12-04 pic is at the height of having crypto, the hiking pic is basically what I looked like when I began treatment, the 8-06 pic is after 4

treatments, and the 1-07 is today. Take care y'all- Nick Positive Pedalers Board Member, Roadie #9068 Sister ita High, SPI,Inc.GHS <garyhow60614@...> wrote: Nick, you indicated in one of your postings that your insurance now covers Suulptura injections. Thanks but mind you when I was most gaunt I was also suffering from a fully raging infestation of cryptosporidium. By the time I began to have Sculptura done I had gained back roguhly 40 lbs. Since that time I have gained another 40lbs. and that also helps overall. But I feel the sculptura definitely helped with my temples and cheeks. It has risen my self esteem, not only to have "my" face back, but to have recovered from crypto at all. I was told that I had to have at least 100CD4 to fight off crypto but with the help of Ninoxinide my 5-15 T-cells managed to fend it off. Now I became a Sister of Perpetual Indulgence, a board member of Positive Pedalers, and an annual volunteer on AIDS Lifecycle. I still work 2 days per week while collecting disability. But I try to use my free time to give back to the communities that have given me so much support and love. Genuine Silikon 1000 is so expensive that if someone is quoting $300 for a treatment I would be highly suspcious of the actual product being used. There are many hotel room treaters who claim they are using legitimate materials, some even in fancy appearing boxes.  Wonderful what you cant print with your home PC and printer, these days. Don't be so quick to judge from I have seen and I have

been told

silikon makes your face hard to the touch, it doesn't

feel natural anymore

and of course it cannot be removed.

I had Sculptra for several years and it does feel

natural, not to mention

it is not permanent and considering the area of

application, it might be a good thing, yet costly.

By the way $300 for either silikon or sculptra would

be a hell of a deal,

and you know what they say, if it is too good to be

true, then....

I agree with . Silikon 1000 seems very permanent, and I don't think I'd trust my face to just anyone. Even if he's a doc. I'd do tons of research on the product AND the doctor, and make darn sure he/she has malpractice insurance. You get what you pay for, as you do wth all things. Hi Guys- From my own experience with Silikon micro-droplet injections (done about 3 years ago in Los Angeles) - it does not feel hard in any way, or at all unnatural- actually quite the contrary, it has restored my face. Then had my butt done too with Silikon (not 1000 though- a different viscosity is used for the butt) and Im ecstatic! My butt looks better now than it did before HIV meds ravaged it. Again very soft, supple, and natural looking. This is my own personal experience. And btw, it was $1200.00 per treatment. It took about 4 for the face and 5 for the butt. Im very happy with results of both. Later
