Guest guest
Perhaps it would be best to leave what happens on the other boards ON the other boards. If something worthwhile or helpful for us is posted there, then it could be mentioned here. That other stuff though; that just seems to be importing the conflict and we don't need that. Guest guest
" I was surprised by the content of your post, earlier today. The reason I had that reaction was because, once again, old stuff from other boards was still being drudged up. I just don't understand why. A sincere apology, which you did seem to feel was necessary, would have been enough. " Here's why: I set up all these boards for all of you, weeded out the trolls and got rid of them to make this place a safe place. There was a time when I threw someone out when I was moderating on another message board and everyone wanted to know why because they were sending messages to her and she was not responding. They felt it was sneaky just to get rid of someone and not tell anyone. I learned from that that it is always a good thing to tell people why you do what you do. Historically speaking, I explained to you folks many times that there were people on the main board that were a danger and needed to be ejected and felt it necessary to do it in front of all of you in order to demonstrate that I had legitimate cause to get rid of him. How would you have felt if you were picked on by someone from another message board and knew that that person was a fellow member here, gathering information to use against you? This is what some of our members are dealing with. I have had more people coming to me asking for protection than you would believe and I did what I did here to let everyone know that I have and will continue to stand up for them in a time of need. I gave this board to many people here and defended them on other message boards until I was banned. They all have safe havens here. Leadership is when you make the hard decisions that others are unwilling take. You do it because you have to and you do it because you care about the people you are taking actions for. I threw out Gareth not to settle an old score but to keep you all safe. I think we can all agree that trolls on this board are not a good idea. Your comments are appreciated and well-taken. Tom Administrator Tom, I think every one feels a deep appreciation for the fact that you started this group. None of us would have this " place " to come to, if you hadn't. Just, please, no more on the old, negative history. We can't take it. > Sincerely, >

Hi tom I hardly think throwing out Gareth is " keeping people safe " . Gareth nelson doesnt deserve to have his private life scrutinized in public. Gareth and Amy are quite a husband and wife team. They have done more the advancement of the anticure viewpoint than many that came before them. Just recently AFF was mentioned on MSNBC.com They are also being profiled by a major news outlet this friday/saturday. with photos. And we just got word a major NT parent mag wants to do a piece in OCtober on AFF. it might be very critical but they are making a dent. Guest guest
Thanks for your input. I promised Gareth I would say nothing more about this and so I will not. Suffice it to say that I had my reasons for throwing him out. Hi tom I hardly think throwing out Gareth is " keeping people safe " . Guest guest
Hi Joe, I can't find the area in the NBC site you mentioned, could you give more specifics, just curious. I absolutely agree. If first Aspergia and now Aspergian Island collapsed, it seems quite likely that this group would also collapse if several hundred refugees from AI are allowed in. If Tom wants to help these, I'd suggest creating new groups instead. Leif
Guest guest
Hi Leif, Thanks for the input. I am in communication with Edan at www.aspergia.com right now about this issue. Up until today, the existing agreement with Edan has been that this particular forum was and is for Aspergian.com refugees and as many of the refugees from Aspergian Island (an unofficial Aspergia board) are Aspergians, I would like to continue to honor my agreement, but with stipulations. We'll see what happens. At present, there are enough viable alternatives that I actually DON'T think we'll see a sharp rise in membership. But we'll see. Tom I absolutely agree.
