I just responded on-line: One of my friend's daughter did have an IUD; she became pregnant and delivered her baby prematurely. This baby is now in the hospital again, two months after birth, because his lungs were not working properly. This little baby has been fighting for his life, and it's all because of the IUD placed in his mother's womb. The parents love their baby, and wished that they child didn't have to suffer because of their decision to use the IUD. The IUD may not prevent ovulation that may lead to conception; it most often works by preventing a young human life from implanting on his or her mother's womb. But there are miracle babies, like this young baby.
