Guest guest
Dorothy, I understand your anxiety, and I believe it comes from fear. Fear of the unknown. It is commonly agreed that this is a relatively slow acting virus. What I'm saying is that you probably have time. Time to learn as much as you can. Time perhaps to wait for a treatment with fewer side effects, or even a better chance of success. I can not reccomend the commonly accepted treatment for HCV. It is a long and sometimes very difficult therapy with the possibility of permenant side effects, and only a 50/50 chance of working. I thought it was worth a shot, and that it was the only chance I had. I thought wrong. I wish I had waited and done more research. I completed therapy in 1998, but lost my wife of 21 years in the process. I relapsed before my six month bloodtests. I suggest you learn as much as possible. Talk to doctors. Yeah, more than one. Do your homework. This is a great place to learn, and there are many more like this on the Internet. I am currently undetectable due to reasons I don't fully understand, and would be next to impossible to find out about. My best guess is that the "Dong Cong Xia Cao" (one kind of Chinese medicine) gave my immune system the chance to beat down the virus. Disgusting to look at and eat, but they didn't make my hair fall out, or cause any other side effects that I noticed, and I only ate them four or five times. I posted a photo of Dong Cong Xia Cao in my photo album on my 360 page if anyone wants to see what I was eating. http://360./us2china2 Some places you can start: Janic and Friends, for lots of facts about treatment, symptoms, etc: http://janis7hepc.com/ Clinical Trials, a list of current clinical trials for any illness, (just search for hep c.): http://www.clinicaltrials.gov Info on one trial that I find most hopeful: http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct/show/NCT00229749?order=1 And since you are looking for doctors in Long Island, This is the website for the New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine http://www.nyicm.org/ BONUS: They probably speak English, so you won't have to learn Chinese. I have much faith in Chinese medicine. 6000 years of history and learning should say something to all of us. I think the main reason natural remedies are not accepted by the AMA is because they don't offer phamacuetical companies the same proffit margins as drugs concocted in the lab. If my posts sound like I am a nut, please understand it is only my wish to give others hope, information, and a chance to avoid the kind of experience I had in the "normal" system. My best to all, Eat well, sleep well, be well!Dorothy <dorv@...> wrote: Thanks..........I have made an appointment with the doc at North Shore, but it's not till April 19th & I'm somewhat anxious to get started.
