I'm looking for a place that will support my son as he grows older and needs transition services, opportunities to live independently, and of course excellent schools. I'd like to live in a place that is safer and more family friendly than Las Vegas! *************** I would not recommend Illinois, our schools come in LAST. PLUS our state is low on money, as is CALIFORNIA. We have no money for schools here and so the schools are really lagging and the majority of our funding for schools comes from the LOCAL district. That means that we , our local community, might be poor, and we do not therefore have as good of schools as the rich districts. SAD. Anyway, I always hear so many nice things about PENN. I have friends there and also have lists where I have heard so many talk highly of PENN schools and the services that the STATE has for those with disabilities. A state with good SCHOOLS is Wisconsin also in IL
